Job summary

Chalice, a leading AI platform for brands, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build scalable APIs, containerized deployments, and event-driven architectures in a hybrid NYC/remote setup. You will own core platform code, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with Data Science, ML, and SRE teams to enable reliable, multi-tenant systems.

The role emphasizes production readiness, internal/external integrations, and a move toward an API-first, event-driven platform with strong governance

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of experience building and operating production systems.
• Deep production experience with APIs, event-based platform designs, multi-tenant architectures, microservices, AWS tools, and Docker.
• Exposure to Databricks, including deploying jobs via Databricks Asset Bundles and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Develop secure and scalable APIs for internal and external use.
• Build portable, packaged code compatible with internal/external systems.
• Implement CI/CD and testing automation to production readiness.
• Reduce systemic complexity and introduce durable patterns.
• Identify architectural risk early and define reliability standards across teams.
