Job summary

MAG, the market-making arm of Novig, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build the core trading engine powering our market-making across prediction-market venues. You will own the infrastructure connecting to venues, normalizing real-time data, handling orders and positions, and enforcing risk controls with reliability for live sports calendars.

You will collaborate with traders to translate feedback into faster execution, better tooling, and new strategies.

Responsibilities

• Architect and build MAG’s core trading engine and data pipelines.
• Implement deterministic, event-driven matching and risk modules.
• Develop high-throughput, low-latency data ingestion and order gateways.
• Create developer-first APIs for algo integrations and reliable endpoints.
• Collaborate with frontend, trading, product and SRE teams on reliability and performance.
• Contribute to modular backend services and production debugging.
• Optimize hot paths with profiling and tracing to improve scalability.
