Job summary

Kpler is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own components of a real-time trade intelligence platform, extending coverage into North American inland supply chains. You will design, implement, and operate major subsystems, combining streaming telemetry, rail, and waterway data with existing maritime tracking in a high-autonomy model.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building distributed production systems.
• Experience architecting event-driven or data-intensive systems with streaming tech like Kafka.
• Strong Python and REST API design skills; frontend contributions with TypeScript/Vue welcome.
• Experience with production cloud infrastructure, SLOs, incident management, observability.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and operate major platform components end-to-end.
• Lead subsystem architecture with design specs and code reviews.
• Ensure production reliability via SLOs, observability, on-call rotations and incidents.
• Architect data quality frameworks for telemetry and time-series monitoring.
• Collaborate with marine tracking and data teams to integrate inland feeds.
• Mentor engineers, set conventions, and perform pair programming.
• Partner with customers and product leaders to demo features and shape roadmaps.
