Kpler is seeking an Engineer II to join the Maritime & Logistics engineering team in the United Kingdom. You will design, build, and operate high-throughput data processing and API distribution systems powering global maritime intelligence.

You will own real-time streaming applications and backend services with Java, Scala, and Python, leveraging Kafka, Flink, and Snowflake. Expect end-to-end ownership, strong focus on reliability, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualificações

• 3+ years of professional software engineering delivering backend microservices and data pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Scala, and Python.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-based data platforms.

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance backend microservices and APIs.
• Develop real-time data pipelines and stream-processing apps with Kafka, Flink, and Python.
• Own backend services end-to-end from design to production operations.
• Optimize health, throughput, and data freshness across streaming infra.
• Investigate incidents, perform root-cause analysis and implement improvements.
• Reduce technical debt through better maintainability, observability, tests, and CI/CD.
• Collaborate with product managers and platform engineers on maritime domain needs.
