Job summary

Alloy, an AI-powered identity and fraud prevention platform, seeks a backend-focused engineer to own real-time decisioning systems and risk workflows. You will build scalable services, optimize data paths, and extend AI features that explain flags and guide actions.

Hybrid work in NYC with strong collaboration across teams. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in backend engineering, strong SQL, and experience with Node.js and TypeScript, plus familiarity with OpenSearch/Elasticsearch and AI

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with ownership of backend services in production.
• Hands-on experience writing and optimizing SQL queries and understanding query plans and indexing.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship performant Postgres queries and Node.js APIs for the decision engine.
• Own end-to-end systems for client lists used to flag, block, or approve, scalable to millions of records on OpenSearch.
• Build and extend AI features that explain flags and recommend next steps using Bedrock or similar tools.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders and customers to scope features from ambiguous requests.
• Collaborate on system design decisions as the Decisioning services expand for enterprise-scale rollouts.
