Job summary

ProphetX is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (IC3) to own the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of complex backend systems. You will lead delivery on large projects, translate product requirements into engineering tasks, and serve as a technical anchor for junior engineers.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend experience in Go, Java, C++, or Python; Go preferred.
• 2+ years building on AWS or cloud platforms (GCP, Azure).
• Experience building scalable, real-time systems in production.
• Strong microservices design and patterns knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of large projects with production-level ownership.
• Translate product requirements into engineering tasks; act as translation layer between product and engineering.
• Monitor product health and drive issue resolution (functional and performance).
• Contribute to evolution of systems and frameworks balancing innovation with reliability.
• Set and uphold best practices in software development across the workstream.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive adoption of new tech.
• Collaborate with offshore and globally distributed teams.
