Job summary

Vertage Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Houston to design and build scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI. You will work with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and modern CI/CD tools to deliver reliable APIs powering renewable energy applications.

You will contribute to architecture discussions, code reviews, and cross-functional collaboration with product teams and stakeholders. This role emphasizes scalable systems and cloud-native design.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience building APIs with FastAPI or similar.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native apps.
• Familiar with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD best practices.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.
• Build scalable backend services and distributed systems.
• Work with AWS services such as RDS, SQS, and S3.
• Deploy and manage applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and Argo.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and technical decision-making.
