Job summary

Zoom is seeking a Software Engineer for the platform team to own and deliver full features, building reliable APIs and data infrastructure shaping the customer experience.

You will collaborate with experienced engineers and focus on scalability, observability, and performance. The role requires 6+ years backend experience and a strong API/stack ownership mindset, with a hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering with backend focus and API development.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Postgres, and Node.js, including production deployment and operations.
• Proficiency across the stack: TypeGraphQL, Apollo/Express, React, RDS, ClickHouse.
• Demonstrated ownership of large-scale backend projects with pride in craft and code quality.
• Clear communication with cross-functional teams including front-end engineers.
• Judgment on tradeoffs; preference for stable, well-supported solutions and scalable designs.

Responsibilities

• Design and build infrastructure, data models, and APIs powering core platform features.
• Ship well-designed, testable code with emphasis on performance and reliability.
• Create and maintain testing, validation procedures, and technical documentation.
• Own core internal infrastructure and ML systems to serve evolving needs.
• Analyze complex system challenges and deliver simple, scalable designs with observability and SLA considerations.
