Job summary

Tillster in the United States is seeking a Senior Software Engineer – Back End to own the payments terminal platform behind our kiosks. You will re-architect this into a modular, pluggable SDK and implement new integrations across card-present and cloud processors, while staying hands-on.

You will lead architecture reviews, design, and hands-on coding in Java/Spring with a focus on reliability, PCI-DSS, and secure tokenization.

Qualifications

6+ years back-end engineering with Java and Spring in multi-module Maven projects.
Experience designing extensible plugin/SPI architectures and mentor/leadership experience.
Hands-on low-level device/protocol experience and PCI‑DSS awareness is a plus.

Responsibilities

Own the payments domain end to end on the kiosk platform: authorize, capture, void, refund, settlement, and reconciliation.
Re-architect into a pluggable payment SDK with versioning and backward compatibility.
Design a terminal abstraction for integrated vs semi-integrated vs cloud processors and cash devices.
Build integration tests and certification harness to validate new integrations before hardware touch.
Define platform-wide patterns for correctness in money movement and PCI-DSS scope minimization.
Lead architecture reviews, set technical direction, and mentor engineers.
