Job summary

Cincinnatus LLC is staffing a Senior Backend Engineer to power core customer-facing experiences for a high-scale platform. You will deliver features in Node.js, TypeScript, and Rust, build robust REST/GraphQL APIs, and integrate AI capabilities into services.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems at scale.
• Hands-on backend development in Node.js and TypeScript.
• Rust production experience in performance-critical modules or services.
• Strong understanding of HTTP, cookies, headers, caching, and inter-service communication patterns.
• Experience with GraphQL on Node.js is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of scoped features through cross-functional teams, aligned with platform objectives.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality services in Node.js/TypeScript/Rust across CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and optimize REST and GraphQL APIs for high-traffic applications.
• Integrate AI/ML capabilities into product services and leverage generative AI tools to boost productivity.
• Mentor peers and drive engineering excellence and incident resolution.
