Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and optimize the Mobile Backend for Frontend (MBFF) platform and back-office integrations. You will develop secure, scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot, deploying on Azure and driving modern DevOps and observability practices.

The ideal candidate has deep experience with microservices, cloud engineering on Azure, and a pragmatic approach to AI-enabled tooling for productivity and reliability in enterprise

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing microservices and RESTful APIs in distributed systems.
• Cloud experience on Azure with containerized deployments and managed services.
• Strong DevOps, CI/CD, and automated deployment practices.
• TDD and automated testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize the Mobile Backend for Frontend platform and back-office integrations.
• Develop scalable microservices and APIs using Java/Spring Boot.
• Deploy and operate services on Azure (AKS, API Management, Functions, Cosmos DB).
• Improve observability with metrics, logging, tracing, dashboards, and alerts.
• Mentor engineers on microservices, API standards, and DevOps practices.
• Apply AI-enabled practices to improve developer productivity and reliability.
