Job summary

VCluster Labs is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Backend) to architect and build the next generation of the vCluster platform. You will work deeply with Kubernetes internals, writing high-performance Go code to power core orchestration features.

The role emphasizes end-to-end ownership, open-source collaboration, and solving complex systems challenges in a distributed, remote-friendly startup environment.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in Kubernetes internals, including architecture, networking, and storage.
• Strong Go programming skills with ability to write clean, efficient backend code.
• Active personal projects or open-source contributions demonstrating building and experimentation.
• Highly self-driven with the ability to own features from design to release.
• Comfortable working in a high-growth startup environment and managing ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Kubernetes deep-dive to push container orchestration boundaries.
• Develop core backend logic in Go powering the vCluster platform.
• Own features end-to-end from design through release with minimal oversight.
• Contribute to open-source projects and advance tenancy models for isolation and resource sharing.
• Tackle hard engineering problems requiring systems-level thinking.
