Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced backend engineer to develop and scale Java applications and microservices, leveraging Spring and AWS cloud services. You will design robust APIs, contribute to architecture, and collaborate with product and cross-functional teams to drive growth initiatives.

The role requires hands-on coding, architectural input, and mentoring while working with onshore and offshore teams to deliver complex releases and improvements.

Qualifications

• 8 years designing and implementing Java applications across multiple phases.
• Experience building backend services and distributed systems.
• Experience building microservices using Spring Framework.
• Experience with AWS Cloud Services including ECS, Load Balancers, S3, IAM Roles, Aurora RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, Glue.
• Containerization with Docker and Kubernetes.
• REST APIs and client-side JavaScript framework familiarity.
• Understanding of Agile development practices and SDLC.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple teams, including offshore groups.

Responsibilities

• Develop high-performing, scalable backend infrastructure.
• Improve site architecture, SDLC tools, and system design.
• Translate requirements into robust, low-defect code.
• Research new technologies to improve architecture and UX.
• Participate in code reviews and share knowledge with team.
