Job summary
Imply in Burlingame, CA is seeking a backend specialist to help redefine what is possible with observability data and to build Imply Lumi atop Apache Druid.
As part of the Applications team you will implement micro-services in Java, collaborate with PM/UX/frontend, and own major features while being on-call occasionally.
The role offers competitive compensation and benefits, including 100% paid health plans and equity, with compensation range $185,000-$225,000.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building scalable and reliable services in Java or similar language.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm, cloud providers such as AWS, and related technologies.
- Experience with relational and/or OLAP databases.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain micro-services and backend software components in modern Java.
- Develop and maintain state-of-the-art features within Apache Druid.
- Lead in the design and development of major features across teams.
- Coordinate directly with PM, UX design, frontend engineers, and backend engineers to deliver major initiatives and products.
- Be on-call for production issues (2 weeks per cycle, 4-6 times per year).
