Job summary

Pie Insurance is hiring a Senior Software Engineer - Infrastructure to design and operate scalable, secure systems in the AWS cloud. You will implement infrastructure as code using CDK (TypeScript), support SOC2/ audits, and push for high-quality software through reviews and CI/CD pipelines.

You’ll work with product, design, and other engineers, write mostly TypeScript (some C#), and participate in on-call rotations ensuring reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Expertise with AWS technologies and architectures.
• Experience using AWS CDK in TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of VPC, Security Groups, Route53, and IAM.
• Familiarity with AI coding assistants in daily workflow.
• CI/CD best practices and GitHub workflows.
• Backend/infrastructure focus with TypeScript; some C# a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve AWS infrastructure as code with CDK.
• Apply security and compliance practices for regulated environments.
• Leverage AI coding tools to accelerate development and testing.
• Participate in peer code reviews for app and infra changes.
• Write clean, maintainable code in TypeScript; some C#.
• Collaborate with product, design, and stakeholders throughout agile process.
• Shape design/architecture for scalable, secure systems.
• Deliver software via CI/CD pipelines and optimize them.
• Assist support/ops by triaging production issues promptly.
• Build modular, reusable code and adhere to best practices.
• Participate in on-call rotations to improve stability and visibility.
• Continuously learn and adopt new tech and practices.
