Job summary

Mutual of Omaha Insurance Co. is seeking an AWS CDK/TypeScript Platform Engineer to join the Common Technology Platform team. This remote, full-time role focuses on designing and automating infrastructure with IaC using AWS CDK, while enhancing the developer experience across the enterprise.

You'll lead automation, secure networking, and scalable cloud solutions, collaborating with multiple teams. Applicants must be located in the United States or Puerto Rico and sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in development including TypeScript and/or Python.
• 2+ years of experience in AWS including experience writing and debugging scripts/code for building and managing AWS services, delivered through CDK's.

Responsibilities

• Create innovative cloud solutions by designing and automating infrastructure using AWS CDK, scripting languages, and APIs—Infrastructure as Code.
• Partner with teams to uncover challenges and improve developer experience with self-service tools.
• Apply engineering excellence to automate infrastructure, enable self-healing, and build reusable components.
• Lead lifecycle automation for distributed cloud platforms, ensuring stable configuration, deployment, and monitoring.
• Build and optimize secure cloud networks, including load balancers, firewalls, and VPN connectivity.
