Placements24 is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer to join our client’s development team in East London, Eastern Cape. You will design, build, and maintain robust server-side services and APIs, collaborating with product and frontend teams to deliver scalable digital experiences.

The role requires 5+ years of backend experience, strong proficiency in languages such as Python/Java/Node.js, and a track record with RESTful APIs, microservices, databases, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of backend software development experience.
• Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Strong knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and cloud familiarity.
• Proficient in a backend language (Python/Java/Node.js/C#).
• Experience in Agile environments and Git.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs.
• Write clean, well-documented, and maintainable code.
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate server-side logic.
