Job summary

Autocorp.ai is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to scale our GraphQL API platform serving North America. You will design scalable APIs with PostGraphile, optimize PostgreSQL schemas, and own background job processing in a fast-moving startup.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of Node.js/TypeScript backend experience, strong SQL skills, and hands-on AWS knowledge. You’ll work remotely with a talented team, owning features end-to-end from conception to production.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development with Node.js/TypeScript.
• Strong PostgreSQL expertise with complex queries and migrations.
• Production experience with GraphQL APIs (PostGraphile a plus).
• Solid understanding of AWS services (ECS, Lambda, S3, Cognito, SES).
• Experience with background job processing and event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency with Git workflows and collaborative development practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable GraphQL APIs using PostGraphile and PostgreSQL.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and database schemas with indexing strategies.
• Build and maintain background job processing systems.
• Architect plugin-based resolver systems for domain-specific business logic.
• Implement robust error handling and retry mechanisms.
• Build and maintain CRM integrations and real-time event processing."
• Design ETL pipelines.
• Deploy containerized apps on AWS ECS with CI/CD and IaC.
• Monitor performance with distributed tracing and logging.
• Write unit and integration tests with Jest; enforce coding standards.
