Job summary

Future is building a personalized guidance system for lifelong health. Backend engineers design, implement, and test APIs, while maintaining core services and data pipelines to scale across user and trainer experiences.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, focus on database performance, and stay ahead with modern technologies. The role supports a Remote First policy for US-based employees and includes equity along with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of production backend/API development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Go, AWS, Postgres, and Docker.
• Experience with Docker-based microservice architectures.
• On-call engineering experience, ~1 week per month.
• Startup environment adaptability; fast-moving, trade-off aware.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test APIs for new products, features, and services.
• Maintain and optimize existing systems, with emphasis on database-related performance.
• Collaborate with other engineers across the stack and cross-functional teams.
• Stay updated with latest technologies and best practices, encouraging peers to do so.
• Serve as on-call engineer approximately one week per month.
