Weekday AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to contribute to AI system training and evaluation, with a focus on backend development for scalable services. You will design coding tasks that assess feature implementation, bug fixes, refactoring, and performance optimization, and develop deterministic verifiers to validate solutions.

Qualifications

Strong backend development experience.
Proven ability to design, build and maintain scalable services and APIs.
Deep understanding of data structures, algorithms and computer science fundamentals.
Experience with debugging, performance optimization and code reviews.
Experience with automated testing and test design.
Ability to identify defects, edge cases and architectural weaknesses.

Responsibilities

Design challenging, real-world coding tasks involving feature implementation, bug fixes, refactoring and performance optimization.
Create high-quality reference implementations demonstrating correct and maintainable approaches.
Build deterministic verifiers, validation scripts, and comprehensive test cases.
Apply backend engineering expertise to scalable services and APIs.
Analyze defects, bottlenecks, and root causes of failures.
Design testing strategies and maintain large test suites.
Evaluate code for correctness, readability, and performance.
Develop tasks that assess refactoring and optimization of legacy code.
Document task requirements and verification criteria clearly.
