Lightning AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design and build the backend systems powering its AI agent platform. You will own orchestration frameworks, tool execution, workflow management, memory/state handling, and developer-facing APIs to enable production-ready applications.

You'll collaborate with Core Platform, Training & Experimentation, Sandboxes, and Compute teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and developer-friendly capabilities across our hybrid office hubs in San Francisco,

Qualificações

• Experience building scalable backend systems.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and APIs.
• Experience running production services at scale.
• Hands-on with backend platforms or infrastructure tools.
• Familiar with cloud platforms and container tech.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build backend services for AI agent orchestration.
• Develop scalable APIs and platform capabilities for tool use and workflows.
• Build reliable infrastructure enabling long-running distributed AI workflows.
• Collaborate with product, research, and platform teams to deploy agent features.
• Improve platform reliability, observability, and performance.
• Review architecture and engineering processes, and tooling.
• Maintain high software quality with testing, automation, and delivery.
