Lively, Inc. is seeking a Backend Senior Software Engineer to build and scale our investment and financial products. You will focus on secure, high-availability services that integrate with financial institutions and manage data with strong design patterns.

You will implement features from design to testing, write automated tests, and troubleshoot production issues while collaborating with cross-functional teams. This remote-first role offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development with a backend focus.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Experience designing and developing scalable, high-performance web applications.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns.
• Excellent problem-solving and proactive approach.
• Experience building backend services with high availability and scalability.
• Able to model and design intuitive and scalable schemas.
• Experience with agile/scrum methodologies.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for technology and continuous learner mindset.
• Motivated to leverage AI tools and technologies.
• Not afraid of responsibility, a good sense of humor and down-to-earth.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud platforms and DevOps practices is a plus.
