Job summary

InvestEngine, a London-based fintech, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Portfolio Team. You will design and maintain backend services, focusing on portfolio creation, Managed Portfolios and related operations.

You will lead end-to-end roadmap projects, work with MySQL/Redis, and participate in architectural decisions in a fast-paced, remote-first environment. The role requires strong Python skills, 5+ years in backend development, and a track record of producing maintainable,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Strong Python skills and solid software engineering fundamentals.
• Good understanding of software architecture and service design.
• Experience with relational databases and REST API design.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend services in Python 3.11 using Django / DRF.
• Build features for portfolio creation and portfolio operations.
• Lead roadmap projects end-to-end: clarify requirements, design, and ship.
• Collaborate with Product, frontend, QA, mobile and design teams.
