Job summary

SoFi Money, Seattle-based, is seeking a Software Engineer to join the SoFi Money team. You’ll help build backend services for onboarding, account configuration, and payment workflows, and develop APIs for internal and external users.

You’ll write clean, testable Java/Kotlin code in a Spring Boot JVM stack, participate in code reviews, and diagnose issues in development and production with mentorship from senior engineers. A strong owner mindset and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of software engineering experience building backend systems.
• Experience with JVM-based languages (Java or Kotlin) and Spring Boot.
• Understanding of distributed systems concepts (APIs, databases, service communication).
• Experience building or consuming APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and containerized environments (Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Good communication and willingness to learn from others.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services for onboarding, account setup, and payment configuration workflows.
• Develop APIs used by internal teams and external clients.
• Write clean, well-tested code in a JVM-based stack (Kotlin/Java, Spring Boot).
• Follow patterns for reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
