Job summary

SoFi Money, Seattle-based, is seeking a Software Engineer to join the SoFi Money team. You’ll help build backend services for onboarding, account configuration, and payment workflows, and develop APIs for internal and external users.

You’ll write clean, testable Java/Kotlin code in a Spring Boot JVM stack, participate in code reviews, and diagnose issues in development and production with mentorship from senior engineers. A strong owner mindset and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of software engineering experience building backend systems.
• Experience with JVM-based languages (Java or Kotlin) and Spring Boot.
• Understanding of distributed systems concepts (APIs, databases, service communication).
• Experience building or consuming APIs.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and containerized environments (Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Good communication and willingness to learn from others.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

The Role

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our SoFi Money team. As a member of the SoFi Money team, you will help build new systems, maintain the health of our systems, and continually grow your skill set. The ideal candidate is both forward-thinking and hands‑on, has a solid sense of ownership and drive for delivery, and is a strong team player. At SoFi, we pride ourselves on the collaboration between Product, Design, and Engineering and so you will be involved in the entire product lifecycle, from ideation through building, deploying, and continual improvement and evolution.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain backend services that support client onboarding, account setup, and payment configuration workflows.

• Interest in building scalable, high‑availability systems.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this role is listed below. Final base pay offer will be determined based on individual factors such as the candidate’s experience, skills, and location.
