Job summary

SoFi is seeking a Staff Software Engineer in Seattle to lead the design and implementation of key capabilities for our financial services platform. You will be responsible for back-end service development, driving technical excellence, and collaborating cross-functionally with various stakeholders.

This role requires a Bachelor’s degree, extensive software engineering experience, and proven leadership abilities, with a focus on cloud services and microservices design principles.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as a professional Software Engineer or relevant experience.
• 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Deep understanding of relational and document database fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services for the Lending Platform.
• Lead by example to improve engineering excellence.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Marketing, and Compliance teams.

Skills

Proficient coding in Java, Kotlin, or similar languages

Experience with Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes

Deep understanding of microservices design principles

Experience with public cloud services

Strong collaboration skills

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering

Tools

GIT and CI/CD systems
