Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer (backend-leaning) to build and evolve the systems powering our financial services platform, focusing on backend payment workflows and transaction processing while delivering user-facing interfaces.

You will own features end to end—from data model and APIs to the Angular frontend—shipping with minimal supervision and prioritizing security, reliability, and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience in production environments.
• Deep experience with Java and modern JVM frameworks.
• Experience designing APIs and service-oriented systems.
• Experience with relational databases and large datasets.
• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures.
• Proficiency with Angular or a modern reactive frontend framework and TypeScript.
• Familiarity with containerized environments such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants in regular workflow.
• Strong judgment on when to rely on AI tooling and when human review is essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services supporting financial workflows and transaction processing using Java and JVM frameworks.
• Own features end to end—from data model to API to Angular frontend consumption.
• Build and maintain APIs for internal services, external integrations, and frontend.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and evolve event-driven systems.
• Improve system reliability, performance, and observability across the stack.
• Refactor and modernize legacy systems as the platform evolves.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term fixes.
• Collaborate with product and design to translate requirements into well-tested features.
• Participate in code reviews and advocate for strong engineering standards.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate design, implementation, testing, and documentation.
