Job summary

Opto is engineering the future of private markets to improve client outcomes and drive capital to transformative ideas. As a Software Engineer at Opto you will turn complex business problems into elegant software solutions and own end-to-end engineering tasks.

We operate a modern stack—TypeScript/React/Next.js on the frontend and Python FastAPI REST services on the backend, deployed in AWS Lambda containers.

Qualifications

• 4-year technical degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with strong IC contribution.
• Proficiency in modern Typescript and React; familiarity with Python, REST APIs, AWS.
• Strong frontend architecture, state management, performance, and component design.
• Experience building design systems and reusable component libraries; solid testing practices.

Responsibilities

• Own the delivery of high quality software projects, coordinating with teammates and stakeholders to hit timelines.
• Contribute to all phases of product development from specification to deployment and operations.
• Seek context and iterate on solutions to reduce ambiguity and drive projects forward.
• Participate in engineering recruiting (interviews, problem specs, role ownership).
• Ask for help when needed and unblock progress through stakeholder communication.
