Job summary

Databricks is seeking an experienced backend-focused engineer to join CustomerLake in NYC, developing enterprise-grade capabilities for secure, scalable SaaS products. You’ll own features end to end, from architecture to production, working across permissions, audit logs, pricing controls, and governance for large organizations.

You will collaborate with product, design, security, and infra teams to deliver robust admin experiences and scalable services that meet regulatory and reliability

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience building and shipping production systems.
• Deep backend engineering experience with end-to-end ownership of features.
• Experience building enterprise SaaS products or enterprise-focused teams.
• Experience with permissions, access controls, audit logs, entitlements, governance, or admin tooling.
• Design of scalable backend services, APIs, data models, and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of the needs of administrators across large organizations.

Responsibilities

• Build enterprise capabilities for secure adoption, administration, and scaling of products.
• Design and develop permissions, roles, and access-control systems for complex environments.
• Develop auditability and governance for admins to view activity and changes.
• Develop pricing, entitlement, usage, and product controls for multi-team configurations.
• Build scalable backend services, APIs, and data models powering admin experiences.
• Translate enterprise requirements into intuitive, pragmatic solutions.
• Balance flexibility with security, compliance, and reliability.
• Own projects end to end from architecture to production launch and iteration.
• Collaborate with product, design, security, infrastructure, and other engineering teams.
