Job summary

Mozilla is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Ecosystem Services Team to build and own back-end systems, maintain cloud infrastructure, and ensure reliability in production. You will collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers, CloudEng, and UX partners to deliver dependable features, owning services end-to-end from code to production health.

You will work across teams to design APIs and data contracts, participate in reviews, and support security and privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Strong backend experience with Python, TypeScript/Node.js, or Rust.
• Hands-on experience with observability tools like Sentry and Grafana.
• DevOps on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with Docker-based pipelines.
• Ownership mindset: operate services in production.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and SQL optimization (Knex).
• Terraform and Kubernetes experience.
• Open-source contributions or personal engineering projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead backend development and own server-side logic.
• Own services end-to-end from deployment to production health monitoring.
• Collaborate with CloudEng, frontend, and UX to deliver reliable features.
• Participate in on-call rotations and incident response.
• Rotate into a support role handling releases and dependency updates.
• Apply AI-assisted tooling to move faster while preserving quality.
• Review code and ensure security/privacy compliance.
• Design APIs and data contracts with cross-functional teams.
