Job summary

Metropolis Technologies is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Customer Experience, to design and maintain backend services powering our checkout-free parking platform. You will influence the full development lifecycle, from ideation to requirements, and promote automated testing and rapid feature deployment.

You will help ensure the system is highly available, scalable, and can seamlessly integrate partner products, working with an on-site, collaborative team.

Qualifications

• MS or BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
• 6+ years of software engineering experience with strong CS fundamentals.
• Proven track record delivering large-scale distributed systems and consumer-facing apps.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures and related technologies.
• Deep understanding of Agile processes including TDD/BDD, CI/CD and build/test/deploy.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services that power the Metropolis parking platform.
• Be part of the full development lifecycle from ideation to requirements gathering.
• Moderate technical discussions, evaluate new techniques, and evolve the platform.
• Apply automation testing and deployment practices for rapid feature launches.
• Promote a culture that learns from production incidents to improve the platform.
• Ensure systems are highly available and scalable.
• Collaborate with partners to integrate their products with Metropolis.
