Job summary

PitchBook Data, located in Seattle, is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Product and Engineering team. You will design and build backend systems handling billions of records, fostering innovation and enhancing customer experiences.

We require a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and 5+ years in software engineering, primarily with Java and backend systems. This is an in-office role, embodying collaboration and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, predominantly in backend systems.
• Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch or comparable search and indexing platforms.
• Experience with unit and integration testing; strong belief in test coverage.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain backend services and data pipelines.
• Write well-designed, testable, and efficient code.
• Support production systems — deployments, troubleshooting, and incident response.

Skills

Java development experience

Spring Boot / Spring Framework

Kafka or comparable streaming platforms

PostgreSQL or other relational databases

Elasticsearch or search platforms

Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
