Job summary

Qubika is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to build the backend services of a new data ingestion platform for the insurance sector. You’ll own API development and backend engineering, collaborating with data and DevOps teams alongside a separate frontend team.

You’ll implement a standalone ingestion API, ensure S3 storage with metadata, and enable auditing through a PostgreSQL-based data catalog. Strong multi-tenant auth and configurable workflows are required.

Qualifications

• Senior-level backend experience designing and running APIs.
• Extensive AWS experience (S3, IAM) for secure ingestion.
• Strong PostgreSQL skills and metadata modeling.
• Implement authentication and multi-tenant access controls.
• Design configurable workflows and reliable integrations.
• Collaborate with frontend via documented API contracts.
• Advanced English communication.

Responsibilities

• Build a standalone ingestion API with contract prior to implementation.
• Store submissions in S3 with metadata and error handling.
• Integrate with data catalog for auditing and status tracking.
• Configure per-partner workflows and avoid per-org code.
• Enforce tenant isolation and authorization.
• Support routing of files to downstream systems.
• Collaborate with DevOps on deployment, testing, logging, and docs.
