Job summary

Modash is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to join the Data Core team. You will design and operate large-scale data collection and processing systems powering 400M+ creator profiles across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, with a focus on reliability and scalability.

You’ll own production systems end-to-end, tackle partial failures, rate limits, and cost tradeoffs, and collaborate with Data Search and Data Insights to keep our data fresh and usable for customer-facing features and analytics.

Qualifications

• Built large-scale backend or data systems with high reliability, throughput, latency, and cost considerations.
• Experience taking systems from concept to production and owning architecture, implementation, release, operation, and iteration.
• Familiarity with third-party APIs, rate limits, and external dependencies; strong observability practices.

Responsibilities

• Keep data flowing at scale by building systems that collect and maintain 400M+ creator profiles across social platforms.
• Design resilient services to handle API instability, rate limits, outages, and platform changes.
• Improve economics of collection by optimizing coverage, freshness, and compute costs.
• Own production: shape architecture, write and review code, ship, observe, and improve with robust monitoring.
