Job summary

LearnLux in Denver (remote-first) seeks a Senior Back End Engineer to design and build scalable backend systems powering our enterprise SaaS platform. You will contribute to data architectures, pipelines, and cloud infrastructure while collaborating across product, design, and data teams.

You will lead with a strong focus on reliability, security, and performance, building AI-enabled features and advancing distributed systems in a fast-moving startup environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with data systems, including SQL databases, data pipelines, and data warehouses.
• Backend engineering experience with scalable production systems in a SaaS environment.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with Node.js and/or Python; willingness to learn other languages as needed.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably GCP (AWS acceptable).
• Experience in startup or fast-moving environments; security and compliance awareness.
• Experience using automation and AI-driven tools to improve developer productivity.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services and systems that support LearnLux’s enterprise SaaS platform.
• Work with data systems, including SQL databases, pipelines, and data warehouses, to support product needs.
• Run parallel AI-assisted coding sessions and ship across multiple threads of work in real time.
• Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure for reliability and performance (GCP preferred).
• Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Drive engineering efficiency through automation and AI-driven tooling.
• Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across the team.
