Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable backend services for our digital platforms in Austin. You will own complex components, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product managers, architects, and security teams to deliver reliable, customer-focused software.

The ideal candidate has strong Node.js experience, distributed systems expertise, and a pragmatic, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

5+ years of backend/server-side engineering experience, primarily with Node.js.
3+ years designing and implementing services.
2+ years building distributed systems, APIs, and cloud-based applications.
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design.
Hands-on experience with: Feature flags, Caching strategies, CI/CD.
Experience with AWS services and microservice architectures.
Familiarity with automated testing practices.
Strong knowledge of software architecture and infrastructure fundamentals.
Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to work independently.
