Job summary

Extreme Networks is seeking an Application Software Engineer to join a high-performing One Cloud team in Salem, NH. You will translate requirements into scalable features for ExtremeCloud Applications and Platform, working with software engineers, product management, and designers.

The role emphasizes fast learning, data-driven decisions, and a commitment to security, performance, and accessibility. A BS in CS or related field is required, and visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Mathematics or related degree.
• 5+ years of backend development experience.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience building high-scale, cloud-based web apps with REST/JSON/OpenAPI.
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational DBs (PostgreSQL, Redis, ElasticSearch).
• Knowledge of event-based architectures (RabbitMQ, Kafka).
• Security, performance, accessibility considerations (IAM, RBAC, TLS).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and working with global teams.
• Self-driven with strong problem-solving and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Write clean, scalable, secure code following standard methodologies.
• Create unit, functional, and automated tests to ensure reliability.
• Design solutions and introduce new technologies for scalability.
• Collaborate with product, CX/UX/UI, and architects to deliver services and apps.
• Provide technical leadership and participate in sprint delivery.
