Job summary

EBizCharge, headquartered in Irvine, CA, is expanding its Card Present platform for in-person transactions. We seek a Senior Engineer with deep payments domain knowledge to lead backend work, EMV certification, and secure integration with payment terminals.

You will design scalable services in .NET/C#, integrate Clover/Square/Stripe SDKs, and ensure PCI DSS compliance across all card-present flows while mentoring junior teammates in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Strong experience building production-grade backend services for payments.
• Hands-on EMV chip, NFC, and mag stripe flows experience.
• Experience with payment terminal hardware and device management protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services that manage communication between payment terminals and our processing infrastructure.
• Integrate with device management platforms and terminal SDKs from Clover, Stripe Terminal, Square, and similar providers.
• Implement and maintain device hub capabilities including provisioning, configuration, firmware coordination, and health monitoring.
• Own and drive EMV Level 3 certification efforts in partnership with networks and vendors.
• Design and build card-present infrastructure with international markets in mind, handling EMV differences and multi-currency support.
• Build scalable backend services using .NET and C#, adhering to architectural patterns.
• Implement robust retry logic, timeouts, and graceful degradation for transaction integrity.
• Write secure code that meets PCI DSS requirements across all card-present flows.
• Apply P2PE and tokenization standards within device integration and transaction processing layers.
• Act as a technical resource and mentor for junior engineers through pair programming and code reviews.
