Job summary

Mesirow Financial seeks a Senior Backend Engineer to build and modernize the systems behind Investment Management applications. You will apply strong .NET fundamentals, cloud-native Azure services, and AI-assisted development to deliver scalable software.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, lead architectural decisions, mentor junior developers, and drive CI/CD, testing, and security across the technology stack.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional experience with C#/.NET stack.
• Strong RESTful API and backend services experience.
• Hands-on Azure design, deployment and operations.
• Advanced SQL Server and T-SQL skills.
• Experience with EF and/or micro-ORMs like Dapper.
• Solid OO fundamentals and design patterns knowledge.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and Git/Azure DevOps.
• Secure coding practices for web APIs and data security.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain backend components of Investment Management apps.
• Lead modernization, refactor, and cloud-native migrations on Azure.
• Promote automated testing, observability and secure coding across teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Lead architecture discussions and mentor junior developers.
• Implement and integrate third-party market data and trading platforms.
