Job summary

Arena Intelligence, Inc. is seeking a backend engineer to build the APIs, services, and data systems that power our evaluation platforms used by enterprises.

You will work on the application layer, collaborating with infrastructure and research teams to deliver robust backends and scalable data flows. You will design low-latency APIs, model data for growth, and enable enterprise features like usage metering, authentication, and multi-tenancy.

Qualifications

• 5+ years backend engineering experience building product-facing APIs, services, and data systems at scale.
• Go proficiency and API design for long-term use by engineers and customers.
• Strong data fundamentals: modeling, querying, and scaling Postgres; Redis and queues as needed.
• Experience turning evaluations into durable product features and data pipelines.
• Product-oriented mindset focusing on developer experience and tangible outcomes.
• Ability to operate in a startup environment with evolving scope.

Responsibilities

• Build API-based products from the ground up, delivering low-latency, reliable APIs and services.
• Turn evaluations into durable products with scoring pipelines and data models exposed via APIs.
• Ship enterprise-grade backends including usage metering, billing integration, authentication, and multi-tenancy.
• Own data architecture to unify public and private evaluation data and ensure fast queries.
• Contribute across the stack to support Leaderboards and Evals backends when needed.
