Realtor.com is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer for our Video Platform team. You’ll help build an AI-driven pipeline that turns listing photos into cinematic property walkthroughs and deliver scalable backend services.

You will work with Java and Python, contribute to system architecture, and mentor teammates in a fast-evolving space. This role emphasizes collaboration, reliability, and security in a cloud-first environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software development experience.
• 2+ years contributing to system architecture and design.
• Experience with GraphQL as a service author, not only a consumer.
• Strong SQL and relational modeling experience (Postgres/Aurora).
• Exposure to NoSQL stores (DynamoDB) and caching (Redis).
• Hands-on AWS experience and containerized workloads on EKS/ECS.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of complex parts of the problem space in your squad.
• Provide guidance on system architecture and design across GraphQL service and video generation pipeline.
• Develop scalable, high-quality APIs and data models, including asynchronous video generation work.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Analysts, and Engineers in squads.
• Mentor engineers and help them grow.
• Prototype new models, tools, and techniques for ongoing innovation.
