Job summary

Luxoft Germany is seeking a Backend Developer to design and deliver scalable Python APIs on Microsoft Azure. You will own services end to end from development through deployment on AKS, with strong emphasis on observability and security.

The role involves cobbling together MCP servers, AI integration, and robust CI/CD in a cloud-native environment. You will work with stakeholders and engineers to deliver end-to-end features, participate in code reviews, and uphold engineering standards across

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional backend development experience with Python.
• Production REST APIs with FastAPI including async programming.
• Experience with FastMCP or MCP server development or demonstrated ramp-up ability.
• Azure experience including AKS, Cosmos DB and Redis.
• Docker experience and deploying to Kubernetes (Helm a plus).
• CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions.
• Observability tooling: Azure Monitor, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus or Grafana.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and English communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable, high-performance REST APIs and backend services.
• Build MCP servers to expose data to AI agents and LLM-based apps.
• Design data models for Cosmos DB with partitioning and throughput considerations.
• Implement caching with Azure Cache for Redis to improve performance.
• Containerize services with Docker and deploy on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and automated tests.
• Implement monitoring, tracing and dashboards for production systems.
