Job summary

Workato is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build the distributed backend powering our AI agent platform. You will craft event-driven services, real-time integrations, and APIs that scale to 1M users while ensuring correctness and reliability at production scale.

You will integrate LLMs and agentic tooling, drive features end-to-end from design to deployment, and contribute to system observability and code quality with mentorship and strong reviews.

Qualifications

• 5+ years shipping and operating production backend systems at scale.
• Proficient in Python with clean, well-tested code.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems and fault tolerance.
• Experience with event-driven/real-time architectures and queues.
• Kubernetes experience in production and observability tooling (metrics, tracing).

Responsibilities

• Build event-driven, scalable backend services that stay reliable during partial failures.
• Create real-time surfaces and integrations (streams, gateways, CLIs) that perform under load.
• Integrate LLMs and agentic tooling into production systems.
• Drive features end-to-end from ideation to deployment and monitoring.
• Mentor teammates and uphold high engineering standards.
