CVS Health is seeking a backend-focused Senior Software Engineer to build microservices on a cloud-native platform hosted on Google Cloud Platform. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable distributed systems and AI-enabled features like smart search and recommendations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience across the full software development lifecycle.
• 3+ years building cloud-native applications (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• 4+ years in backend/API-focused programming (Java, Python, Kotlin, or Go).
• 2+ years designing microservices with API design & event-driven patterns.
• Experience with AI tools and building distributed systems.
• Experience with search technologies (Elastic/OpenSearch/Solr/Lucene).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Observability/monitoring experience with tools like Splunk.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable microservices architectures with APIs and event-driven patterns.
• Develop and maintain backend services and distributed systems focusing on scalability and performance.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers to apply cloud-native and microservices strategies.
• Build data pipelines for real-time and batch processing.
• Enable AI features such as intelligent search, recommendations, and decision-support.
• Contribute to search systems using Elastic/OpenSearch/Solr/Lucene.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines and automated testing; follow DevOps practices.
• Ensure reliability via monitoring, logging, and observability practices.
• Support production systems and optimize performance and stability.
• Work with cross-functional teams to deliver modular solutions.
