Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a backend-focused Senior Software Engineer to join our team building cloud-native microservices on Google Cloud Platform. You will design, develop, and maintain distributed systems and production services with an emphasis on scalability, resiliency, and performance.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in software engineering, 3+ years cloud-native apps, strong Java/Python/Kotlin/Go skills, experience with microservices, AI tools, search tech, CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes, and

Qualifications

• 4+ years of software engineering experience across the full lifecycle.
• 3+ years building cloud-native applications (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Strong programming skills in Java, Python, Kotlin, or Go for backend/API work.
• 2+ years designing microservices with API design and event-driven patterns.
• Experience with AI tools and distributed AI workflows.
• Experience with search tech (Elastic/OpenSearch/Solr/Lucene).
• CI/CD and DevOps practices, containerization with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Observability and monitoring with tools like Splunk.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to scalable microservices architecture design and implementation.
• Develop backend services with focus on performance, scalability, and resiliency.
• Collaborate with architects and engineers on cloud-native strategies.
• Build data pipelines supporting real-time and batch processing.
• Enable AI-driven capabilities such as intelligent search and recommendations.
• Enhance search systems using Elastic/OpenSearch/Solr/Lucene.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing; participate in code reviews.
• Ensure production reliability through monitoring, logging and observability.
