Qualifications

• Backend development experience with production-grade Java services.
• Experience owning REST API design and integration in production systems.
• Ability to mentor and guide other developers, with code reviews.
• Comfort working with distributed/outsourced teams across time zones and async communication.
• Active use of AI coding tools as part of development workflow.
• Solid grounding in relational database design and SQL.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies to improve the Customer Support department's effectiveness and efficiency.
• Collaborate with VP of Operations to define goals, KPIs, and roadmaps.
• Design, build, and ship production code using modern Java frameworks; stay hands-on in codebase.
• Own major modernization efforts end-to-end: design, review, test, production rollout.
• Provide day-to-day direction, mentoring, and set priorities across time zones.
