Job summary

Remedy is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to design and build core product systems, focusing on backend services and APIs while also delivering frontend features for end-to-end workflows.

You will own problems from discovery through deployment, collaborating with scientific, product, and operations teams to translate real-world needs into robust technical solutions. We seek a candidate comfortable with rapid iteration and responsible for long-term code health.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience designing, building, and operating backend systems in production.
• Strong production experience with TypeScript, Python, or another modern language used to build web applications and backend services.
• Experience designing APIs, relational data models, and data processing workflows.
• Experience building and maintaining frontend features and user interfaces for production web applications, using React or a similar framework.
• Experience deploying and operating software in a cloud environment such as GCP or AWS.
• Demonstrated judgment in making pragmatic tradeoffs among delivery speed, reliability, maintainability, and the long-term health of the codebase.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a small, cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services, APIs, data models, and data processing workflows that power Remedy’s core product capabilities.
• Build and maintain the frontend features and user interfaces that bring those capabilities to users, delivering complete product workflows across the stack.
• Own product and engineering problems from discovery through design, implementation, deployment, and iteration.
• Collaborate with scientific, product, and operational teammates to understand real-world workflows and develop effective solutions.
• Investigate complex problems, identify requirements, risks, and edge cases, and translate them into clear technical approaches.
• Contribute proposals to technical design discussions and refine solutions with the team.
• Partner with the Software Engineering Lead to shape system architecture as requirements change.
• Build systems that transform documents, lab results, field data, and operational data into structured outputs.
• Integrate applied AI capabilities such as document extraction, retrieval, and report generation into reliable product features.
• Write clear, tested, and maintainable code, and conduct thoughtful code reviews to share context.
• Balance delivery speed with reliability, maintainability, and long-term health of the codebase.
• Improve engineering practices around testing, deployment, observability, documentation, and reliability.
