SimSpace Corporation is seeking a Backend Senior Software Engineer for the Attack and User Emulation Team (AUE). This full-time role offers remote work with a USA focus.

You will lead the evolution of our cyber range emulation platform, leveraging Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, and Kubernetes to build scalable, secure, and AI-enabled services. You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product and design teams, and drive architectural excellence while delivering high-impact distributed systems for

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on software development experience with large-scale distributed microservices in production.
• 2 year degree in science & technology or commensurate experience.
• Deep expertise in Java or Kotlin, with advanced API design and event-driven architectures.
• Production experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) and enterprise frameworks (Spring Boot).
• Experience integrating AI/LLM capabilities into production systems, with awareness of service boundaries and observability.
• Familiarity with MCP or A2A patterns is a plus.
• Track record of leading complex, multi-system initiatives from ideation to delivery.
• Strong cybersecurity concepts related to offensive/defensive emulation.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and deliver scalable microservices for cyber range simulations with high reliability.
• Coordinate AI-enabled services and autonomous workflows to support intelligent emulation behaviors.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, and Engineering Leadership to define roadmaps and milestones.
• Mentor engineers and drive architectural decisions across teams.
