Job summary

Leadout Capital is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate backend systems powering critical infrastructure at scale in San Francisco. You will own end-to-end components, mentor engineers, and drive AI-centered development across the stack.

You will work with Go/Java/Python/Rust, design REST/gRPC services, deploy to cloud platforms, and champion CI/CD, testing, observability, and security.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in at least one backend language (Go/Java/Python/Rust) and distributed systems experience.
• Experience designing and operating RESTful or gRPC services, including DB design and query optimization.
• Experience deploying and operating services in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong CI/CD, testing practices, and modern software delivery workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services and APIs with reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Make sound architectural tradeoffs on evolving requirements.
• Write resilient, well-tested, and observable code for production.
• Design and maintain data models, storage systems, and integrations at scale.
• Instrument services with logging, metrics, and tracing for monitoring and incident response.
