Job summary

Hex is seeking experienced, backend-leaning product engineers to expand the capabilities of its AI analytics platform. You will work on building complex workflows, APIs, MCP entry points, and CLI capabilities for enterprise use, with a focus on agentic analytics across diverse customer segments.

We value engineers who can own end-to-end product changes, design robust RBAC systems, and collaborate across RFCs, reviews, and architecture discussions in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend or full-stack software engineering experience.
• Ability to build systems with high levels of complexity and business logic.
• Interest/experience in agentic workflows involving disparate systems and tools.
• Experience working in a remote-first team with strong communication.
• Commitment to RFCs, code reviews, and architecture discussions.
• Experience with enterprise integrations: SSO, SCIM provisioning, audit logs, MFA, delegated access.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend Hex’s API and CLI to enable workflows for our technical users.
• Design MCP server and client implementations to expand entry points into our capabilities.
• Design and implement a next-generation access control system with RBAC and admin flows.
• Own full-stack product changes end-to-end from backend policy to admin workflows.
• Propose and implement well-architected, scalable systems in collaboration with the Hex team.
